 Computer Science and Engineering Department was established during the academic year 2001-02 with an intake of sixty students and the seats were doubled from the academic year 2005-06. The department started M. Tech. Computer Science and Engineering- during 2008-09 with an intake of 18 seats . The department started diploma in computer science and engineering during the academic year 2009-2010 with an intake of 60.Inorder to increase the technical man power in India the department started diploma and degree courses in computer science and engineering through IGNOU’s Vertical Integrated Engineering Program(VIEP). The students of the department formed an association named with “Association of Swarnandhra Software Engineers And Technocrats” (ASSET) in the academic year 2005-06 to enhance the academic activities of the students. The department started Computer Society of India (CSI) student chapter during the academic year 2010-2011with 164 students
.

The department has collaborations with IBM, INFOSYS and ORACLE Corporation TECHNIKETAN. Students of our department got selected in various reputed MNCs like GOOGLE, WIPRO, TCS, MAHENDRASATYAM, IBM, INFOSYS,TECHNIKETAN etc. Our department supports Jawahar Knowledge Center which provides placements with training to the selected candidates. The Jawahar Knowledge Center of our department is appreciated by our ExChief Minister, Late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekar Reddy by awarding a Memento for excellence. The Association of Swarnandhra software engineers and technocrats (ASSET) periodically organize seminars, symposia and guest lectures for the benefit of students and also conducts seminars by the students. the students of CSE department are doveloping live software projects to serve the needs of society.
